08.06.: Preis für Netzwerk Deutschland
|

|
(to the German groups:)
- Arbeitskreis Naturwissenschaft-Theology, Evangelische Studentinnen- und Studentengemeinde, Giessen, Germany, Wolfgang Achtner.
- Research Group in Religion and Science, Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität, Frankfurt, Germany, Tobias Müller, Michael Parker
- Forum Boundary Questions, Akademie der Diozese Rottenburg-Stuttgart, Stuttgart, Germany (a two-time prize winner), Regine Kather (University of Freiburg), Heinz-Hermann Peitz
In this case three societies applied together for the supplemental grants. The plan is very exciting and I suspect will prove to be very important, as well. As we know, the network is the wave of the future, so the program judges are very interested in plans for expanding and strengthening the network of scholars, clergy, and intellectuals who are engaged by and engaged in pursuing issues at the intersection of science and religion. In anticipation of the future direction of the LSI network, three German societies have banded together and made the commitment to create a Religion and Science Network in Germany as a subnetwork, so to speak, of the worldwide LSI network. … Their ambitious goals include becoming a model for a language- or cultural-specific science and religion network building by leveraging the naturally occurring “centers of gravity” in a region for promoting solid research in and scholarly support for science and religion. … This was an excellent piece of collaborative work from these three societies, and I want now to introduce to you their leaders …
